With its high-performance battery, the BMW i3 can cover up to 293-307 km in pure electric*. The BMW i3s, which delivers a sportier driving experience, offers up to 279-282 km.
*Subject to driving conditions: the starting charge of the battery, accessories fitted (post registration), variations in weather, driving styles and vehicle load. They were obtained after the battery had been fully charged.
The way in which an electric car functions differs fundamentally from that of a vehicle with a combustion engine in that the motor of an electric car is not powered by fuel but exclusively by electricity. This electricity is stored in a battery, the capacity of which helps determine the range, in other words, the distance that can be covered with one battery charge.
With electric driving comes exciting possibilities. That’s why BMW approaches this new era in mobility just like any other; where engineering, innovation and aesthetics come together seamlessly to inspire joy in every journey.
Pure electric range for the BMW i3 and i3s
0-80% in <3.2 hours (based on a current of 16A)^
CO₂ emissions BMW i3 and i3s
^ Dependent on the local electricity infrastructure. Charging time corresponds to a charge of 80% of maximum capacity and based on a single-phase supply current of max 32A.
* These figures were obtained after the battery had been fully charged. The BMW i3 and i3s are battery electric vehicles requiring mains electricity for charging. There is a new test for fuel consumption, CO₂ and electric range figures. The electric range shown was achieved using the new test procedure. Figures shown are for comparability purposes. Only compare fuel consumption, CO₂ and electric range figures with other cars tested to the same technical procedures. The CO₂ figures have been determined according to the WLTP test. WLTP has been used as the applicable CO₂ figure from 1 January 2021 for vehicle registration tax (VRT).
HOME CHARGING & CHARGING CABLE.
Thanks to the bp pulse homecharge unit, you can charge your BMW i vehicle up to 70% faster than when using a conventional 3-pin socket. In the case of the BMW i3, a 0-80% charge time of up to five hours can be achieved when using a bp pulse homecharge unit.
All BMW i models come with two cables: a standard-charging cable (mode 2), which is five metres long and can plug into any conventional 3-pin socket, and a charging cable (Mode 3) for recharging at public charging stations.
